Up to 60% of marketing budgets are wasted!

For the last 4 months we have been running a unique new media B2B project with MSN here in Denmark with very succesful results.Together with local Danish MSN we host a weekly podcasting show - titled MSN MediaCast - where a panel consisting of Henrik Busch (IUM), Christian Strand (IUM) and Oliver Hueg (MSN DK) discuss trends and interactive marketing. Every week we have a guest who is in some way relevant to the topic of the week. We have estimated our core target group to consist of no more than 2.000 people...that is the Danish advertising industry and its influencers. We have reached 1.620 of those at least once and generate an average of 500 downloads per episode.

This week we have made a scoop by having none other than marketing guru John Philip Jones of Syracuse University as a guest. What John has to say is relevant and interesting not only in Denmark but in the whole world. John's main point in the show is that up to 60% of all marketing budgets are wasted!

In addition the exclusive discussion covers topics such as:
- The state of the advertising industry
- Global trends
- The creative agencies' inability to think outside the box
- Effective advertising campaigns
- Creativity and talent
- Research models and testing of effect

Normally MediaCast is in Danish, but for the John Philip Jones episode we have made a special worldwide edition complete with an English intro and outtro. Listen to the show by downloading the mp3-file at the following URL:

We also have a RSS-feed up and running for the Danish version of MediaCast and you can view the MediaCast site at http://advertising.msn.dk/mediacast - be warned, the site is in Danish! Other topics covered so far include Xbox 360, viral marketing, SEM and SEO, in game advertising and branded content.
